INSPIRATION
For years, every December when the snow started to fall in Denver, I got the same phone call from my prima Valerie: “Prima! I need mangos, coconuts, an ocean breeze; I need you to make me a tropical vacation candle!”
It’s true what they say about your cousins; they are your first best friends. We’ve gone through a lot together --- boyfriends, husbands, divorces, children, grandchildren, cancer, grandparents, and parents dying, and through it all, I’ve always known I can count on them for anything and everything.
My primas Valerie and Belinda taught me how to dance, walk in my first pair of high heels, wear make-up, and how to look cool while cruising around the north side of Denver. We thought we were cool (I think we kinda were).
We’ve gotten a little older, but I still depend on them. Whenever I feel like the world is closing in on me and I need to have a good cry and get an honest perspective, I call my primas. They listen, they tell me the truth, and they never judge me. I love them so much; I count on them. Do you have primas like that?
This candle was created for them. Mangos, bamboo, a touch of an ocean breeze, and organic toasted coconut on top. Can you picture you and your primas sitting on a beach together, toes in the sand, sipping a fruity drink with a little umbrella?
