ARTISAN COLLABORATION:  Peter Rodney Breaux

Peter Rodney Breaux is a wood craftsman and photographer. He had a woodworking business for 30 years in Los Angeles before moving to New Mexico.

When his mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, he stopped working full-time to care for her. He spent many evenings sitting in the garden and developed a keen eye for the moon, trying to capture its mystique and beauty. With upgraded camera equipment, his photography became a creative outlet.

Peter lives on top of a mesa near the village of Velarde and has built his own woodshop specializing in custom cabinetry, gazebos, and intricate art boxes. His passion for photography includes not only the moon and evening sky but also the architecture and desert scenery of New Mexico.

INSPIRATION:  This candle was created for one of my favorite customers, Gloria, who asked me if I would create a Luna candle.  I asked her, "Why Luna?"  Here is her story, the inspiration:

"Besides being mysterious and romantic, the moon has always been a way of reminding us that we are never alone, that there is always a connection to those we love, whether they are near or far.

It started when my children did their various trips/travels/missions around the world, and we were apart from each other.  They never had to be afraid or homesick before they left, I always told them, look up at the moon, and no matter where you are, we are both under the same moon.  I look at the full moon in any given month, and I am also reminded of all those that have gone before us, they also looked up at the very same moon."

We create our candles with sustainable 100% American-grown soy wax and organic botanicals, many locally grown.  We blend premium, custom fragrances that make extraordinary sweet-smelling candles.  NO paraffin wax, parabens, dyes, or phthalates.
